Welcome to the website of Charles Bell, a traditional marine and landscape watercolourist of the old school.
Charles Bell originally trained under the guidance of the recognised Reverend N A Scadding and found commercial success in the 1960s with commissions from Warner Brothers and the Royal Mail amongst others. His work can be found all over the world and more recently in the Ward Room of HMS Queen Elizabeth.
Charles moved to North Wales in 1970 and has concentrated on traditional marine and landscape watercolours, mainly depicting scenes near his base in the Conwy estuary.
Please look through the gallery of current prints to bring alive those nostalgic memories or introduce you to the scenic beauty of the coast of North Wales. New pictures are often added to the Gallery.
In addition, Charles undertakes many commissions for marine or landscape art work, in both watercolour and oil, ranging from your boat afloat to specific coastal or inland views. Please contact us for a quotation.
